RELIGION IN SCHOOLS
The national executive of the Federation of Labour has issuer! a circular regarding the federation's attitude towards religion in schools. It appears that the federation's attitude is one of support for the present system of compulsory, free and secular education. This means that in the opinion of the federation the present Bible lessons in primary schools should no longer be allowed. But Rationalists should be true to their title, and "live and let live." That the present system is now valued by many thousands of parents is manifest by the great advance of the movement during late years. Those who value Bible in schools are in the majority. Those who oppose are under no compulsion. P. S. SMALLFIELD.
