YOUNG MAN'S ARREST
REMAND ON £150 BAIL
Arrested yesterday on charges of unlawfully, converting to his own use a motor car valued at £400, and being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car in Panmure Highway, Richard Charles Simpson (23), a .-labourer, appeared in the Police Court to-day- before Messrs. A. J. Stratford and Paterson, J.P.'s. Sergeant Rush obtained a remand until October 27.
Representing. the accused, Mr. K. C. Aekins applied, for bail, whereupon Sergeant Rush suggested that if bail was granted it should be made substantial. "The accused was in an excitable state when he was brought to the police station, and he tried to jab his throat with a pen and. bang his head against a wall," added the sergeant.
The justices fixed bail in a personal surety of £150, and another of a similar amount.
