HOMES FOR EX-SOLDIERS
UNUSED SCHOOL BUILDINGS "Every returned man we can provide a home for is one less problem for the rehabilitation authorities," said Mr. G. H. Smith in moving at a meeting of the Auckland Education Board this morning that the board support a request for the sale 6f an unused school building in the Wellsford district to a returned soldier. The board agreed, subject to further particulars being obtained, to recommend the application to the Department and to request that the matter be considered urgent.
Mr. Smith said he would move "that applications from members of the Returned Services' Association for the purchase of unused school buildings receive very favourable consideration from the board," but the motion was not put to the meeting.
