OFFICIAL OPENING
NEW U.S.A. CLUB CAFETERIA In the presence of nearly 150 guests, the cafeteria which forms part of the club established in the new R.S.A. headquarters, liigh Street, was formally opened last evening. The Mayor, Mr. Allum, complimented the association on its enterprise in providing what he was sure had been a long-felt want among members and of which full use would no doubt be made. Besides officials of the association and prominent citizens, the guests included representatives of ex-servicemen's clubs throughout the Auckland area, and officials from kindred organisations. During the evening an entertainment programme was carried through.
Mr. A. P. Postlewaite, president, in thanking the Mayor for performing the opening ceremony, said that members and guests who would be entitled to use the cafeteria would find it a very convenient and suitable place for meeting together and renewing old comradeships.
The appointments and the atmosphere of homely comfort that characterise the club, as well as the quality of the fare provided from the kitchen, were sources of much favourable comment by the guests.
