THANKS
It is with regret that I read of the various camps and hostels which have been occupied and run for the American servicemen being closed. Those boys have .gone from New Zealand now, and whatever their destination and on whatever battlefield they are fighting, I want to wish everyone of them the best of luck. And I personally want to thank them both for the candy and flowers they have bought for me. I am beyond the age for such nice attentions, but in the help they gave me when we most needed it, and also for their, laughter and cheeriness, too, I am grateful. It is sad when people like we British have forgotten how to laugh. One thing I do hope is that the IZM station will remain in operation for quite a long time yet. The programmes are suitable to every taste, I think, sparkling and bright, with the announcers who are both courteous and considerate, which is a good deal more than can be said of the announcers on some of the Auckland stations, whose manner is both bombastic and sarcastic, denoting how very bored they are with the listening public. THANK YOU AMERICA.
