AUCKLAND BOXERS
MATCHED WITH U.S. CHAMPIONS Though in a few cases the final selection has yet to be made, the Auckland amateur boxing team to meet the United States senior and junior champions from the South Pacific in an all-amateur tourney conducted by the Auckland Boxing Association in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening was announced this morning. Proceeds from this tournament go to the patriotic funds.'' The Auckland team is:— Senior.— Flyweight. G. B roadh U rst (Fire Brigade); bantam-weight, R. King (Northern), feather-weight, A. Gordon (Gordon); lightweight, E. "Sonny" Black (Facoory); welter-weight. J. T>nkins (Fire Brigade), or S. Murfitt (Air Force), middle-weight, L. 3aimon (Fire Brigade): light heavy-weight, M. Quinn (Smith): heavy-weight, M. McHugh (All Gold). Junior.—Flyweight, to be selected: bantamweight C. Vodanovitch (Jones); feather-weight, L. Mulholland (Smith); lightweight, J. Howe (Fire Brigade), or J. Donald (Fraei): welterweight B Catley (All Gold); middle-weight, D. McGrath (Northern): light heavy-weight. W. Ngakuru (Facoory); heavy-weight, F. Zimmerman (All Gold).
