VEGETABLE PROGRAMME
NEXT SEASON'S OBJECTIVE Commenting on the Government's vegetable-growing programme for next season, Mr. T. E. Rodda, vegetable growing superintendent for the North Island, said that the reduction in the number of American forces in New Zealand would have no effect on the projects in hand. The Dominion would still have to supply both the dehydration plants and the American forces in the Pacific with vegetables. Training would be given to selected Avorkers in methods of combating diseases attacking vegetables, Mr. Rodda continued. He hoped that automatic sprayers would be available for areas which in the past had been handicapped by inadequate supplies.
