HOME GUARD

MOUNT EDEN ASSOCIATION When the Home Guard was placed on the reserve the commanding officer of the Mount Eden Battalion, Major A. T. Dow, suggested the formation of a Mount Eden Home Guard Association. The suggestion was taken up enthusiastically by all ranks, and representatives from the companies were formed into a committee to further the idea. This has been done, and the first meeting will be held in St. Barnabas' Church Hall, Belle Vue Road, Mount Eden, on Thursday, May 18, when all old members are invited to attend. The election of office bearers, committees, etc., will take place, and the remainder of the evening will be spent m harmony and will finish with supper.
