THE POLISHED COUNTER
I The lady shopper referred to in your paragraph re the polished | counter got a surprise to see a polisher! counter, but she was not rebuked, as no customer has ever been rebuked in our shop. We have a printed notice on the counter, and there is no need to ask customers not to put baskets on. After all, .a counter, polished or not polished, is for displaying goods on. and not for rough shopping baskets, and we are protecting the public's interests while the polished counter is admired by hundreds.
