MOTORIST FINED £15

CHARGE OF INTOXICATION

A car cleaner, Claude Kenneth Paul (26), appeared in the Police Court before Mr. J. Morling, S.M., to-day, when he admitted that he was in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car in Queen Street yesterday.

In making an appeal for leniency on accused's behalf, Mr. J. F. W Dickson said Paul was the only member of the family left with his parents. Of three other brothers, one was a prisoner of war and the other two were still serving overseas.

The magistrate imposed a fine of £15 and made an order that Paul is not to hold a driving license for 12 months.
