PACIFIC PARCELS
The non-delivery of parcels does not apply where my husband is stationed in the Pacific. For the past 18 months he has received every one that I have posted. Some of them have had gil'is valued at £10. To make doubly sure that he would get them they "were registered. So efficient have I found the parcel mail that I sent a gold signet ring and wristlet watch, and within three weeks my husband was wearing them. Before posting them, a permit was required from the Customs office; they were sealed and stamped and then registered at the pest office. Also, we have no fault to find with the letter delivery in' the Pacific. Five months ago my husband started numbering his mail to me. to see if any went astray. Last Saturday I received letter No. 90. Out of the ninety only two were missing, owing to the loss of five bags of mail. When the boys from the Middle East returned on furlough, the Auckland Star, with their names, reached my husband in N.Z. A.P.O. 150 just four days after it was printed here in Auckland.
