PRODUCTION DECLINE

COMPLAINT BY FARMERS

"A LACK OF CO-OPERATION"

(0.C.) WANGANUI, this day. The Wangaehu branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union has decided to support the efforts of the Auckland provincial executive to stop the decline in farm production. The branch adopted the following resolutions: "That this meeting urges the Dominion executive to place the full facts as outlined by the Auckland provincial executive before each member of Parliament so that the serious decline in primary production may be forcibly brought to the notice of Parliament, and the public would then have a reasonable chance of hearing the union's viewpoints as to the causes of the decline. That the Government's continued lack of co-operation with the farmers in their strenuous efforts to produce more foodstuffs is deplored by this meeting of farmers, who consider that, in view of the serious decline in production, more sympathetic handling of farming problems is needed."
