POSSIBLE GAME
REP. CRICKET TEAM
INVITATION TO SERVICES
The Auckland cricket public may yet have an opportunity this season of seeing the local representative team in action, for the management committee of the A.C.A. decided last evening to invite a combined services' eleven to meet the Auckland team at Eden Park on faster Saturday and Monday. On account of the absence of the representative selector, Mr. A. J. Postlcs. whose service in the Army has taken him south, Mr. W. 11. Cooper was appointed to select the Auckland team.
Since the Brabin Cup team chosen to play in Wellington did not travel owing to the rail restrictions, efforts were made to secure a game between this team and a combined secondary schools' side. J lie secondary schools notified that a team will be prepared to play. This game will be a two-day fixture at Easter. The management committee decided that the four senior club teams which do not participate in the final on March 18 and 25 will play one-day matches in a knock-out competition. The University Club was given permission to invite the Waiuku association to play a match in Auckland.
nofcrence was marie at the meeting to the services given to the game by the late Mr. Hugh B. Lusk, of Hawke'a Bay.
