SHADOW MAID CASE FINDING OP APPEAL JUDGES (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The appeal judges, Messrs. D. E Wankyn, F. R. Robilliard and A. L. Moftatt, have given their decision in appeals by the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club, J. Bryce, jun., and George Chesmar owner of Shadow Maid, against the decision of the New Zealand Trotting Association varying the decision of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club and a charge laid against J. Bryce, jun., the driver of Shadow Maid, for interference in the Ollivier Handicap last month The judges ruled that the appeals by the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting" Club and Mr. Chesmar should be allowed, on the ground that there was no objection within the meaning of the rules before the trotting association. The judges, however, considered tfie finding of the trotting association was otherwise a proper one and directed the association to take the necessary action under the rules to bring the case properly before it. The judges further ordered that the stakes for the Ollivier Handicap be not paid pending the action directed to be taken by the trotting association. The appeal of J. Bryce, jun., was dismissed. The New Zealand Trotting Association disqualified Shadow Maid, which had been placed first in/the Ollivier Handicap by the Metropolitan Club. VISITORS AT EPSOM South Island horses with engagements at the Auckland Trotting Club's Cup meeting at Alexandra Park on Tuesday and Thursday next have already arrived at Epsom. They are:—Loyal Friend, Accountant, Golden River. Shadow Maid, Golden Shadow, Labour Day, Audition, Volterra, Lanaco, Guidance, Propaganda, Great News, Indian Arrow, Sea Max and Rerewaka.
