LOU ROSA STARS
SPLENDID WORK-OUT LADY REYNARD IMPRESSIVE Finishing over two lengths in front of Foxlore and British Mint, the muchfancied Auckland Cup candidate, Lou Rosa, was going in great style at the end of a solid round on the course proper at Ellerslie this morning. The trio kept well together until after the horses turned for home, when Lou Rosa pulled to the front to have matters all his own way to the finish. He had a good bit in hand at the end, and was not really kicked up to his work. The round was run in 2.0 3-5, the Inst seven furlongs in 1.33 3-5. The poles were 50ft out and the track was in perfect condition. Another impressive effort was that of Lady Reynard. This mare, which is very fit, left seven furlongs behind in 1.31 and was timed to run her first half-mile in 49 l-ss. Yogi and Tara King ran six furlongs in 1.20 4-5. They wore on terms at the end and both going , well. The maiden, Royal Duchess, was responsible for a first-rate work-out over six furlongs, which she left behind in 1.19 4-5, running the first three in 39 3-ss. The two-year-old Golders Green beat Idle Rich over four furlongs in 50s, this being the best over the distance. Other gallops:—Three furlongs: Sea Fire, 38 i!-ss; Ink Spot, 395; Shepherd's Mate, 39 3-ss. Four furlongs: Kinstep, 50s (last four of five); Nawab beat Barrage, 51 l-ss; Royal Silver and Flag Song, 51 4-ss; Sir Dink and Medina, 51 3-ss; Firm Lass and Brome, 52 l-ss; Alazon beat Lord Luck, GO 3-ss; Silver Pere, 53 2-os; Royal Screen, 53 2-ss; Sir Simon, 545. Dependable (on the tan), 52 2-ss. Five furlongs: Kraal, 1.4; Corot and Cowper, 1.4 4-5; Kol Ragi, 1.6; Kiatere Maati, 1.6; Roman Duke, 1.7 4-5. Six furlongs: Grand Sight, 1.22 1-5. Seven furlongs: Mr. Rosa and Victory Lass, 1.34 2-5. One mile: Hasten and Magnus Lux, 1.50.
