INFLUX TO WHANGAREI
ACCOMMODATION TAXED (0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. Holiday accommodation in Whangarei has been fully taxed, not only by people on vacation, but also by large numbers of visiting servicemen. For the last fortnight organised drafts of United Nations soldiers have been spending short furloughs in Whangarei, accommodation arrangements having been made by the New Zealand Army authorities Other groups have also been entertained for longer periods in the Hokianga and Bay of Islands districts. Individual servicemen have made their headquarters in town over the holidays and their numbers are expected to be augmented considerably. The Servicemen's Hut is being kept open continuously throughout the holidays.
