TECHNICAL COLLEGE
TWO TEACHERS FARE WELLED The retiring head of the English and general departments of the Seddon Memorial Technical College. Mr. W. E. Burley, 8.A.. has completed 54 years in the teaching profession. Mr. Burley taught in Christchurch, Lyttelton, Feilding and Stratford before coming to Auckland and has been at the Technical College for 22 years. A presentation was made to Mr. and Mrs. Burley at a ceremony at the college yesterday, the speakers being Mr. G. J. Park, principal, and Mr. E. S. Closs, head of the engineering department. A presentation was also made to Mr. R. M. Webber, B.Sc., A.A.S.E., A.M.N.Z.1.E., acting-head of the science department, who has been appointed head of the engineering department of Nelson College. Mr. Webber has been on the staff of the Technical College for 15 years.
