CITY TRAM TRACKS
MAINTENANCE IMPORTANT Following upon a request from the Auckland Transport Board that all available steps be taken to supply suitable men for the work of maintaining tramway tracks, the Minister of Manpower, Mr. McLaga'n, in a letter read at to-day's meeting of the board, stated that he was asking the Controller of Manpower to arrange with the local office of the Department to assist in so far as the limitations imposed by the high degree of priority for the essential work would permit. The Minister added that it was realised the maintenance of tramway tracks was a matter of real importance.
