MOUNT LYELL RESULT
NET EARNINGS RECOVER The Mount L.yell inning and Railway Co., :Ltd., reports a net profit of £169,141 for the year ended September 30, after writing o"ff £1476 for prospecting development, £63,274 for depreciation and £55,000 for taxation. The profit compares with £155,615 last year, an increase of £14,000. A final dividend of 1/3 a share (Australian currency) brings the total distribution to 1/9, or 83 per cent, unchanged. The Union Oil, Soap and Candle Co., Ltd., for the year ended September 30. report a net profit I ot £3435, after reservinß £8123 for taxation, comparing wllh £3859 last year, when £6249 was reserved for taxes.
