AN ARAB WEDDING
JERUSALEM. The wedding of Princess Hayya, eldest daughter of the Emir Abdullah, to Emir Abdul Karim was celebrated at the Amman Palace. Lavish festivities were continued throughout the day. During the afternoon the ladies of Amman were invited to attend a reception given by the bride, who .later entertained them at dinner.
A feature of the occasion was the many dresses in European style, designed by Jerusalem couturieres. The bride"s dress, of heavy white silk crepe, decorated with Palestinian lace, was also made by a Palestinian dressmaker. There . were six bridesmaids, including two younger sisters and an aunt of the bride, and many visitors came from Egypt, Lebanon and Irak.
