BRAVERY COMMENDED
LONDON, Aug. 19. Two sappers, A. Stokes and B. Levdon, of the Forestry Company, New Zealand Engineers, braved exploding ammunition and bursting petrol tanks in an attempt to save the crew of a blazing bomber. When the bomber crashed, the two sappers dashed "toward it and made strenuous efforts to extricate the airm The General Officer Commanding Southern Command, directed that a record of the sappers action be made in the official documents.
