AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The Auckland Indoor Bowline Centre held its annual meeting this week, Mr. Wm. C. Pilgrim being ill the chair. Delegates from the 21 clulw now affiliated were present and officers elected were:—President, M» AVm. C. Pilgrim; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Hardinge, sen., and C Elmore. ;iun.; secretary-treasurer, Mr. F. A. Harris; management committee: Messrs. Snow, Venville, Sangster, Williamson, Odd, McCowatt; auditor, Mr. S. Learning. During the season the following new clubs were affiliated: Brighton, Blockhouse Bay, Islington Bay, Newmarket R.S.A., Ellerslie Ex-Servicemen, Lancashire Club, Auckland Women's Recreation Group, West End Tennis Club (Indoor Bowling Section), Great North Club, and St. Andrews, New Lynn.
The last club to join, the Diggers, having signed up after all tourneys were over, the fees are being carried over to 1943, making that club the first in for this season.
The report stated that the financial position is satisfactory, the membership rapidly increasing. For 1943 two extra permanent trophies have been donated, one for a men's champion fours tourney, the other for a champion of champions tourney. It was decided to take firm action against breaches of the rules. ' Intcrhousc Association The Auckland Interhouse Indoor Bowling Association, which plays on alternate Wednesdays, is one of the largest of the minor associations. Officers for 1943 are:— President. Mr. T. A. Goulding; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. J. B. O'Eoghlen, A. C. Tidball, L.. Low, N. Cossey; secretarytreasurer, Mr. F. A. Harris; auditor, Mr. H. G. Taylor; committee, Mrs. Davenport, Miss A. Brldgens, Messrs. R. Kneebone, H. Bagnall, H. Young, \V. McAneaney; delegates to the centre, Messrs. Bagnall, Tidball and Harris. The constitution has now- been amended to admit to membership employees of any business firm or public service, and wives or husbands of employees.
