THE MATCHING HAT

The fabric hat, matching one's suit or topcoat, is much in vogue in London. It is also economical, since quite small pieces left over can be used to make smart millinery. The large, flat beret, such as is sometimes worn by Mrs. Roosevelt, is first favourite. Mostly it has a sectional crown and is suitable for plain or patterned lightweight; tweed.

High-crowned hat or bonnet shapes also look well in fabrics. Sometimes they rise to a point and droop over one eye like a clown's cap, sometimes they are worn straight on the head and are reminiscent of an inverted mushroom, its fat stem forming the crown.
