OFFENCE BY GIRL
ILLEGAL LIQUOR PURCHASE
(0.C.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. "It should be well known that it is an offence under the regulations and that no one can act as an agent to purchase liquor for members of the armed forces," commented Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., in the Magistrate's
Court, Wellington, yesterday, when fining Ngaire Webb, clerk, £3, with 10/ costs, for this offence.
Mr. Stacey said that, unaware that she. was committing an offence, defendant had gone into an hotel right in front of a policeman, purchased liquor, and handed it to two Americans while the constable was standing there.
