CLOTHING SHORTAGE
POSITION IN HOLLAND
rr, T? e Viennes e daily Neues Wiener Tablett, reporting the desperate shortage of clothing in Germanoccupied Holland, says: "It is as if the people had gone back several generations. The old national costumes are reappearing—wide, full trousers, blue and white jerkins, red shawls, thick caps, wide skirts, graceful pinafores and blue bodices. Wcoden soles clatter in the streets. Wooden shoes appear beneath perfectly creased trousers."
