BALMORAL SCHOOL
CHANGE TO INTERMEDIATE A meeting of over 200 householders, called by the committee of the Balmoral Primary School, last night carried a resolution urging that the school be retained as primary. The Mayor of Mount Eden, Mr. Mills, who presided, was asked to send copies of the resolution to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education, Mr. W. T. Anderton, M.P., and interested educationists. Objections to a change to intermediate status were the danger to children, who would have to cross tram lines and main traffic roads if transferred to other schools, the longer time for travelling in the open in all weathers, and the unsuitability of Balmoral for an intermediate school.
