BANKING DEPARTMENT Liabilities.—Capital, £14,500,000; rest, £3,400,000; public deposits, £6.600.000; . bankers' . deposits, £149,500,000; other accounts, £59,400.000. Assets.—Government securities. £173,900,000, advances, etc.. £4,100,000; other securities, £19,200,000; notes and coin, £36,200,000. proportion of reserve to liabilities,, 16.80 per cent (last week 17.96 per cent); discount rate, 2 per cent, unchanged.
