NO FLAY AT ROTORUA
RAIN HOLDS UP THE PAIRS
TAPLIN'S ONLY UNBEATEN TEAM (Special) ROTORUA, this day. Owing to further rain there was no play this moi-ning in the Rotorua pairs bowling tournament, but it was expected that the weather would have improved sufficiently for games to be resumed this afternoon. A feature of yfcsterday afternoon's play was the first defeat of W. Bremner (Auckland), who went down on the last head to Spackman and Kerr (Onehunga). Hardie Neil was unable to play for Bremner on account of indisposition, and his place was taken by the president of the club, F. W. Dingwall. The substitute was in excellent form, but despite the fact that he and Bremner had two sixes and a four they were beaten on the last head. Kerr required two to tie and three to win. His lead, Spackman, left him two. Kerr drew two more with nice shots, to win 19 —16. The onlv unbeaten team so far is Auckland Transport (H. Neal and J. C. Taplin).
