CARRIES BAT FOR 14G RUNS A match was played at Walker Park on Tuesday and yesterday between teams representing the Auckland and Wellington taxi-cab companies and their employees. Rain Interfered with play on both days, but a keen and enjoyable match was played. Scores were:—Wellington: First innings 216 (A. Graham 146 not out. T. Marshall 25, T. Hoult 11, G. Kellett 10; Pell, eight for 73. Taylor one for 27, Funnell one for 1). Auckland: First innings, eight wickets for 176 (R. Pell 66, K. Taylor 31, S. Beatty 27. F. Drumm 14; Graham three for 40, T. Marshall two for 39, Purcell two for 28, Moore one for 33). Women's Association. —Fixtures for Saturday at Melville Park at 1.45 p.m. sharp:—Senior grade: A.L.H.A. v. Suburbs, North Shore v. College. Intermediate-junior grade: A.L.H.A. v. College, Metro-College v. Berlei; Mount Albert a bye.
