NAVAL WEDDING

ROUDA—BENNETT BRIDE WEARS IVORY SATIN At St. Patrick's Cathedral on Saturday afternoon the wedding took place of Miss Joan Ngaire Bennett, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Bennett, of Remuera, and PettyOfficer James Nathan Rouda, United States Naval Reserve, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Rouda, of New York. Father McKeefrey officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely period gown of heavy ivory satin. It was made with a heart-shaped neckline and a full, long trained skirt. Her veil, which war, lace edged, was worn over the face and was held in place with a spray of white roses and carnations, which flowers were also in the bouquet. Attending as bridesmaids were Miss Betty Cameron and Miss Beth Stouppe, who wore picture frocks of hand-painted marquisette. On their heads were coronets of flowers which matched the asters in their bouquets. The bridegroom was supported by Petty-Officer Walter B. Lane, U.S.N.R., of New York, and the groomsmen were Petty-Officer Henry Belt Johnson, of Virginia, and PettyOfficer Benjamin H. Depenbrock, also of Virginia, both of U.S.N.R. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Domain Tea Kiosk, where Mrs. Bennett received her guests wearing an ensemble of jade green lace and velvet with matching toque. She carried a posy of golden flowers.
