INCIDENT AT HAMILTON

ALLEGED FURNITURE THEFT

(0.C.) i HAMILTON, this-day. Escaping from the cells of the Hamilton police station late on Saturday night, Clifford Fox, aged 20, labourer, who was being held on a charge of breaking, entering and theft of furniture and effects at Hamilton, made good his complete getaway, and is still at large. Fox was one 'of two men alleged to be concerned in the theft of furniture and effects from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. N. G. Bray, of 35, Mill Street, during the absence of the occupiers on holiday at Rotorua. The goods were stated to have been disposed of to an unsuspecting Hamilton dealer. Fox and his companion were to have appeared before the Magistrate's Court, Hamilton, to-morrow. Fox, who was arrested at Gisborne and arrived here under escort on Friday, is of fresh complexion. He has fair hair arid, blue eyes and is sft Bin in height. He is believed to be dressed in a brown coat and navy blue or brown trousers.
