APPEAL FOR MORE WHEAT
(0.C.) WANGANUI, Friday. An urgent appeal for a large increase in wheat production was made by the Minister of Primary Production, Mr. Barclay, when he met the chairmen and secretaries of primary production councils in conference. The Minister stated that approximately 350,000 acres of wheat would need to be grown next season to make the Dominion self-supporting.
