A "CUTTING" RETOkT
The following was overheard during a medical examination in Auckland this week. A returned soldier of the last war, who had lost a leg, was being examined. When an ofhcial saw his artificial leg he said, '•How did that happen?" The veteran replied: It s a sad story. You see, during the last war in France I had just had a bath and was cutting a corn, and owing to the excitement of having a bath I cut up to my knee before I realised what had happened."
