CITY WATER SUPPLY

During the present week the city water supply has held its. own, and so far the Auckland City Council has not considered it necessary to put a ban on hoses and sprinklers. There has been light ram, with the effect ■ that less water has been used on gardens. The average consumption during the past, few days has been 17,000,000 gallons, whereas the record peak reached last Friday was 19,200,000 gallons. .Next Tuesday members of the City Council will visit and inspect the waterworks on the Waitakere Ranges, in view of an early discussion on augmenting the water supply.
