SHOWERS IN CITY
1 AFTER DRY FORTNIGHT After a prolonged dry spell heavy showers of rain fell in the city and suburbs late last night and early this morning, bringing moisture to gardens and lawns. This fall brought a certain amount of relief to the city water supply, as there will be no necessity to use garden hoses for a while. Later in the day the weather was sunny, but temperatures were not as warm as previously, and occasional banks of clouds, accompanied by showers, came over the city. Since the beginning of the month only .17in of rain had fallen up to yesterday morning, and during the night, till 9 o'clock this morning .13in fell, bringing the month's total to .3in.
