CONDITIONS IMPROVED
JAPAN'S WAR PRISONERS . . British Official Wireless Rec. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, Feb. 9. . The Secretary of War, Sir Edward Grigg, replying to questions in the House-regarding prisoners of war in Japan, said: "Representatives of a protecting Power and the International Red Cross Committee have now visited four camps in Japan and two in Korea, and two camps and hospitals in Hongkong. These camps' all contain prisoners of war from the United Kingdom and Dominions. It is disclosed that prisoners are benefiting in health by their transfer to Japan and Korea from less healthy latitudes and the detaining Power will not, I think, refuse to consider suggestions being made to secure improvement in conditions."
