PENDING ELECTION CONTEST FOR SUBURB SEATS Nominations were received to-day for a number of the seats on the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council. Two sitting members, Messrs. C. J. Lovegrove and R. H. Occleston,, were nominated to represent the dairymen, and have been returned unopposed. Two sitting members, Messrs. R. B. Stonex and A. Thompson, were nominated to represent the vendors, and have also been returned unopposed.

There were five nominations for two representatives of Auckland local bodies other than the Auckland City Council: Messrs. I. J. Goldstine (One Tree Hill Borough), A. W. Joughin (Devonport Borough), J. J. Mulvihill (Mt. Eden Borough), V. A. Coyle (Mt. Albert Borough), and E. Buchanan (Newmarket Borough).

The sitting members are Mr. Goldstine, chairman of the council, and Mr. Coyle.

An election will take place on Saturday, February 20. On that date the Auckland City Council will hold a special meeting and appoint members to the city seats. The present City Council representatives are Miss E. Melville, Mr. A. S. Bailey, and Mr. H. P. Burton.
