DROWNED OFF POINT
■ BOY SPEAKING FLATFISH While spearing flatfish by himself, off Ahu Point, Glendowie, about 9.30 yesterday morning, a 14-year-old boy was drowned. He was:— Selwyn Frederick Brambley, son of Mr. Frederick Brambley, of 67, Kildare Avenue, St. Helier's Bay. As the boy was alone, no one noticed he had got into difficulties, but some people walking around the rocks who had noticed the boy fishing earlier thought they heard cries for help. They returned to where they had last seen him, and his spear was found floating on the water. A search party was organised, and the body found at 10.30 by Mr. Joseph Osborne Cole, of Glendowie Parade, St. Helier's, in about 9ft of water. The tide was then going out. An inquest was opened this morning, and adjourned after evidence of identification had been heard. ■
