AUCKLANDER DECORATED
» The Military Medal has been awarded to Private J. A. Black, of Auckland, for notable work as a range-taker of a machine-gun platoon in the Middle East. His wife, Mrs. D. Black, is at present a nurse at Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer. Private Black is a son of Mr. A. Black, of Avondale, and formerly of St. Helier's Bay. Aged 24, he is a keen Soccer player, swimmer and yachtsman.
