EGG PRICES ADVANCE
A further advance of 3d a dozen in the price of hen eggs will become effective as from Monday. A week ago rates for hen eggs were raised by 2d a dozen. Duck eggs will also be dearer on Monday by 2d a dozen. The Auckland Egg Marketing Committee, working in conjunction with the Internal Marketing Division and the Price Tribunal, has arranged for the increases to become operative from Monday morning. The wholesale prices, with retail in parentheses, will be: Hen: Heavy, 2/6'/ 2 (2/10); standard, 2/4' i (2/8); medium. 2/2'/ 2 (2/5!/ 2 ); pullet, l/ll'/z (2/2). Duck: Standard, 2/0»/ 2 (2,3' i); medium, I/lOV'2 (2/1); small, . l/T/ 2 (1/10). Country storekeepers' buying price will be —Hen, 1/11; duck, 1/7.
