SOCIAL SECURITY
"" •■'— —-™ ■"■■ POLICY OP GOVERNMENT (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. A reiteration of the Government's policy regarding benefits under the Social Security Act was made to-day by the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser. "It would seem," he said, "that there has been some misunderstanding of remarks I made yesterday on the subject. "I said plainly then that I would not promise any increases of social security during wartime, but that in the event of an increase in the cost of living, age and other benefits would be increased in proportion. No statement Avas made that there would be no increases."
