VANDALISM
The remarks of your informant, "the travelling musician,' re tne vandalism at the Purewa flag station are long overdue. One would thin* from the very sacredness of tnai silent valley and one of the most beautiful of God's acres, the last resting place of thousands, would dk immune from hooliganism of any kind. The stones are thrown from the inside; the outside is protected by strong netting. I expect to see that ripped off, then the toilet conveniences, if not stolen, smashed. Law and discipline do not seem to command much respect nowadays.
