Over Colliery

UNDER DEFENCE POWERS British Official Wireless Rec. 2 p.m. RUGBY, Dec. 28. The British Government for the first time has taken over the ownership and management of a colliery. This was announced at a meeting of the North Regional Coal Board to-day when it was stated that the Government was taking over, under the defence regulations, the whole of the issued shares of the Nottingham and Clifton Colliery Company, Limited, and that the shares would be vested in nominees of the Ministry of Fuel. The shares of the company are to be paid for on the basis of their value, 4/11.
