NOT A GELDING
There is an idea prevalent that Lord Nuffield is a gelding. This is largely due to the fact that he is often so described in race books. Actually the star sprinter is an eight-year-old horse, and his age makes his recent dazzling form more notable. Very many stallions have become a trifle brainy—too brainy to do their best on every occasion.
