The response to the call to lend savings to the war effort is only fair, as the_ amount received this week was £7583, which is only half the allotted Auckland weekly quota. For the same period last year the receipts were £12,091, states Mr. F. E. Sutherland, honorary secretary to the Auckland Metropolitan Committee of the National Savings Movement.
