TECHNICAL COLLEGE
PRIZE - GIVING CEREMONY
Forty-three of the 750 former students or the Seddon Memorial Technical College serving with the forces had been killed, paid the principal, Mr. G. J. Park, at the; prize-giving ceremony yesterday morning. Mr. Park also referred to many important changes which had taken place in a system of education which had been established for 40 years or more, following the setting up by the Minister of Education a committee to consider post-primary regulations. The pupils were addressed by the Mayor, Mr. Allum, and Bishop Liston.
Following were the awards presented by Miss B. Carnachan of the board of managers:—
Sixth Form: Engineering. Edgar Millett and Bryan Moulder, equal; accountancy. Joan McLacnan, Robert Dobbs. Seddon Memorial Gold Meaal: Fitting and turning. N. E. Lord. Spedil Agriculture Club prize. I. Stanton. Lord RivHidale prize. W. N. Rowe. Special prize for first P^ ac ® ln Auckland in the senior examination for shorthand-typists: Iris Norgrove.
