GENERAL, FREYBERG'S THANKS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day In the course of a cable message to the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, Lieut.-General Sir Bernard Freyberg tendered his thanks to the New Zealand people who have expressed and felt satisfaction at the K.C.B. award to him recently. "Please tell them," General Freyberg said, "that I shall wear the honour with great pride, well knowing it was given me as commander of the New Zealand division as a token of deep appreciation of the exceptional services of their division during the Greece, Crete and Western Desert campaigns."
