PATRIOTIC DONATIONS
A statement that it was hoped to reach a total of £160,000, about £6000 short of the amount raised last year, was made last night by the organising secretary of the 1942 Patriotic Appeal, Mr. L. W. Swan. Household boxes wece coming in very slowly, he said, and there were still sums to be added which were held by various groups and organisations.
Since last Thursday, when the total received was given as £150,308, a fairly substantial amount has been received. The members of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron last night subscribed £60 towards the fund. The appeal closes next Tuesday.
