TKENTHAM SCRATCHINGS Phaleron was withdrawn from the Poarce Handicap on Monday at 11.40 a.m.; Beau Vaals from the Awatea Handicap at 11.50 and Belle Fox from the Awatea at 12.10 p.m. REPORT INACCURATE In the Press Association report of the result of the Karitane Handicap at the Trentham races on Monday. Soncy (1-1) was given as third to Islam and Fairy Godmother. This minor placing Is not correct, Carnforth (2-2), ridden by W. J. Broughton, filling that position. Soncy was not in the first four. SENT TO RICCARTON The New Zealand Derby candidate Representative, which failed in the Wellington Guineas and the Harcourt Stakes, was not brought back to Auckland with otber members of F. Smith's team, but was sent, on to Rlccarton. where he will finish his preparation for the coming classic. APPRENTICE'S LUCK V. Wood, one of Emmet Pope's apprentices, was offered the mount on Airport, long-priced winner of the Members' Memorial Handicap at the Cambridge Hunt races, but he was unable to accept as he had been engaged for Lady Pay. Wood then put S. Brown, Indentured to T. F. Verner, on to the winning ride.
