HOUNDED DOWN
Why is there no law to prevent persons from advertising a man has been in prison. I served a sentence years ago, and after this length of time I have received a letter stating that a certain person is writing to everyone I am connected with, saying that I have served a term in prison. I have been to the Discharged Prisoners' Aid Society, to the police and a lawyer, and they all say, if it were not true I could sue him for defamation of character, but as the law stands I have no redress. Why? I have a good home, wife and two young children and think I should be allowed to at least receive some credit for becoming a useful citizen, and be able to protect my own wife and children and home. I paid for this in prison for 15 months, but still find I am expected to pay for it. I have received no help from anyone, and do not expect it EX-PRISONER.
